I was inspired to create a glass bottle in altered art.

  I simply love to work

with moulds and modelling clay

and an Under the Sea theme is always one of my favourites.

An upcyling idea, I used a liquor bottle as base

and modeled with silicone moulds and theme suitable MDF shapes.

Altered Art Bottle - Winter Magic

 Welcome creative friends!

I was inspired to create another glass bottle in Altered Art

suitable to the magic christmas time.

Tips & Tricks

Firstly I covered the whole bottle with Weathered Wood, a crackle medium from DecoArt,then, after a drying time, I painted that with Chalky Finish 'Serene'.

The middle section was painted with diluted paint for better visibility of the door windows.

I love it to decorate the flat MDF shapes with 3d effects using a silicone cake mould 'Gothic window'

with air drying clay, only the outer frame of the mould was used

one of the

Sheet of Mini MDF Street Lamps

was perfect
for a hanhing lantern over the window
so that it is well fixed, it was pressed into the not yet completely dried clay
and additionally fixed with construction adhesive this glue fixes all MDF shapes
very well on glass, but you should note that it has to dry overnight for a stable hold

under the window was glued

Rectangle Shape

in small size as terrace, which gets additional hold by the swirls of the

Winter Trees & Snow Swirls

Our Winter Special at SanDee&amelie's challenge blog  challenge is,

as usual...

I was inspired to create a desk organizer in steampunk style.

Tips and Tricks

I used air drying modelling clay

in order to be able to press the mass well into your shape

I like to use cake modelling tools

if the out cast has not yet dried properly,

it can still be easily bent around corners

Halloween Mobile

 Hello creative friends!

Today a new Halloween inspiration.

I was inspired to create again something completely different with the MDF shapes

 from Calico Craft Parts.

The result is a hanging mobile, it can be attached to an old ossified branch together with bats and decorated with cobwebs. All parts are freely movable and are set into vibration with every airflow.

Tips & Tricks

base idea

in the upper part of the crow a hole was drilled for the suspension

then i used three birch signs in different sizes

with the help of a chain and some rings (from jewelry design) the three signs are connected

for this further holes were drilled into the signs with a hand drill, if this is too complicated for you, you can ask for pre-drilled holes when ordering, i am sure it can be made possible

labels were printed out

for the painting I used chalky paints from DecoArt

the mat chalky surface in combination with weathered wood creates an old used look

I hope I could inspire you!

Beach Houses in Vintage style

Hello creative friends!

I was inspired to create a canvas in altered art, that means I used the canvas from the other side as shadow frame.
Have you seen yet the beautiful beach houses at Beach and Seasides section??

I love this very old photographies from grandparents, where you can find such awesome mobile bathing carts. The beach huts reminds me in any manner.

I wanted to create in a grungy weathered wood style, it should be look very natural
characterized from blowing wind and salting sea.

Tips & Tricks

Mixed Media Steampunk Bottle

Welcome to our annual Summer Special, dear steampunk and industrial style friends!

I would like to invite you to play along with our two months
It is an "Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial" themed one again and instead of the usual month you have until the end of August to enter up to five (instead of the usual three) entries this time.

I was inspired to create a steampunk bottle in altered art.
I discovered my new creative passion in the last weeks. I simply love to work
with moulds and modelling clay.
Here is an upcyling idea, I used a liquor bottle as base
and modeled with silicone moulds as well as self  by hand.

 Tips & Tricks

I used silicone moulds from several brands (Prima Marketing, Katy Sue design, Stamperia)
and always worked with airdrying modelling clay and construction adhesive.

I always find it exciting to not only use the casts as a whole, but to share them and puzzle them together in a new way to create completely new pictures and impressions.

This looks a bit wild at first, but with a good primer it will become respectable again.
For this I like to use the chalky finish paints from DecoArt.

But modelling by yourself is also fun and reminds you of childhood days, when you liked to play with plasticine.
These are my first attempts to form corals.

I formed small balls and drilled holes into them with a wooden rod. The starfish was created with the help of a small plastic ball and a comb, sounds a bit adventurous, but you use it to create the linear structures. I just realized that it would be better to illustrate it with pictures, but as I said the first tries, there are no pictures, but if you are interested, I will do it in a new project.

As there are many structures and deepenings in the casts, the work
with liquid colours like spray paint or distress ink is always very effective.
For a cool finish look I love to use only some wax cremes,
here Metallic Lustre 'Lavish Green', Champagne Ice and 'Iced Espresso'.

inspiring and different versions
on this Steampunk/ Industrial summer special challenge.
